Recommendations1. The Coastal Retreat (Bodega Bay)
Perfect for guests who want the "Pacific Sunset" experience without the stress of narrow cliffside driving.
The Stay: Bodega Bay RV Park. It’s clean, quiet, and offers full hookups (30/50 AMP) which are perfect for powering your 15,000 BTU A/C. It features a bocce ball court and putting green. The Experience: Guests can take a 30-minute easy walk to the beach or drive the Mojave to Bodega Head for whale watching (peak season is now through May).2. The Wine & Redwoods Loop (Russian River Valley)
This route highlights the "Interconnected" nature of Sonoma’s best landscapes.
The Stay: Casini Ranch Family Campground. Located in Duncans Mills, this is a "White-Glove" favorite because it offers riverfront sites, outdoor movies, and beach bonfires. The Experience: It’s a short 15-minute drive to Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. The Mojave’s 158" wheelbase makes navigating the local roads to Guerneville much easier than larger 40ft rigs.3. The "City Lights & Casino" Resort (Petaluma)
Ideal for guests who want high-end amenities and easy access to both Napa and San Francisco.
The Stay: San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA. This is a true "RV Resort" with a pool, hot tub, and staff-led activities. It is consistently rated one of the best in the country. The Experience: Guests can take the SMART Train from the nearby Petaluma station directly to the Larkspur Ferry for a day trip into San Francisco, leaving the Mojave safely plugged into 50-amp power.
Other things to noteThe Mojave: Pro-Tips for a Flawless Journey
1. Watch the "Tail Swing"
The Rule: The back of the coach swings opposite of your turn.
Pro-Tip: If turning Right, your back-left corner swings Left. Check your mirrors before clearing gas pumps or posts.2. The 30-Amp "Budget"
The Rule: High-heat appliances (Microwave, Hair Dryer, Toaster) and A/C cannot run at the same time.
Pro-Tip: Turn the A/C OFF briefly while using the microwave to avoid tripping the outside breaker.3. The 1/4 Tank Safety Cut-off
The Rule: The generator automatically shuts off when fuel hits 1/4 tank so you aren't stranded.
Pro-Tip: If the generator won't start and fuel is low, top off the gas tank to restore power.4. The "Godzilla" Engine Cover
The Rule: The "doghouse" (center console) stays cooler than older models but still generates heat.
Pro-Tip: Don't leave electronics, chocolates, or pressurized cans on the center floor during long drives.5. Power Bunk Safety
The Rule: Front seats must be reclined and slid forward before lowering the overhead bunk.
Pro-Tip: Ensure the side tracks are clear of fingers or gear before pressing the button.6. Manage Your Tanks
The Rule: Your fresh water tank (53 gal) is larger than your waste tank (40 gal).
Pro-Tip: If the Gray Tank reads 2/3 full, treat it as Full. Dump daily if taking full showers to prevent backups.
