Awesome trip from St. Louis to Wisconsin Dells!
We recently rented this 22-foot 2019 Thor Class C motorhome for a trip from St. Louis up to Wisconsin Dells, and it made for a fantastic vacation. The RV didn't give us a single issue the entire drive, handled the highway smoothly, and even got better gas mileage than we expected. It really brings all the comforts of home along for the ride.
A huge plus was the cooling system: the powerful F-350 cab AC kept us crisp while driving, and the roof unit supported by the propane generator kept the whole cabin nice and cool while parked, exactly as the hosts suggested.
A few budget tips for future renters:
Since you're renting a Class C without a secondary commuter vehicle attached, remember that every errand or local sight-seeing run adds up at $0.69 per mile. Between that extra mileage, the $4.00/hour generator usage fee, fuel costs, and campground fees, the extra expenses can build up fast if you aren't paying attention to the fine print.
While the host's recommendation to run the generator keeps things comfortably cool, if you can live without running it constantly or consolidate your local driving, you'll save quite a bit. Just stay conscious of your overall budget so there are no surprises!
Overall, it’s a wonderful rig with great performance, and we would definitely rent it again.
