My husband, our 55-lb dog, and I just returned from an amazing 2-week trip with 50 cent (went up the 395 with stops at Sabrina Lake, Mammoth Lakes, day trip to Yosemite, Tahoe then back down the coast with stops at Pismo and Santa Barbara). While we've rented campervans (JUCY for a SW trip, CampEasy in Iceland), this was our first time renting a campervan of this size. My husband did all of the driving but he said it was pretty easy to drive and maneuver. It was just the right size to still fit into regular parking spots. The interior space is very well thought-out. Love being able to stand up! Incredible amount of storage space. (tip: we packed our clothes in packing cubes and kept those under the seat/bench and stored our backpacks in the main storage area which was a big space and time saver and kept our things organized). It comes with basic cooking supplies - we brought some of our own since we were mainly going to be doing our own cooking at the campgrounds. The fridge is quite spacious. The bed and pillows are very comfy - temps dipped into the low 40's so we did use our sleeping bags for extra warmth. There is bluetooth capability, so easy to play your own music/podcasts/etc. There is an abundance of USB chargers to charge all your gadgets and some regular outlets as well. The solar panels are amazing - we were never less than 89% on the battery charge. For our dog, there was a little latch (probably for cargo?) behind the driver's seat and we were able to hook her harness up to this using her seat belt clip to keep her on a short leash and from sliding around on the winding roads. There are also covers that you can put on the windows at night to offer complete privacy even if you have all the lights on in the van. FYI the floor can get VERY hot when directly exposed to the sun (such as when we were hanging out at the campground with the door open) so we either laid out towels on the floor or hung a sheet on the doorway for some shade but to still allow a breeze. The booking process was very easy. Loved all the add-ons that were offered. It was extremely clean, everything functioned well (except for the fan in the ceiling that didn't work which Wade informed us of at the start of the trip and the substitute fans worked great). The pick-up and drop-off process were also very straight-forward. Wade is very friendly and responsive via phone/text.The van gets about 18-20 mpg and a full tank cost about $75. The fresh water tank being 28 gallons is a LOT of water - we probably used one full tank for the entirety of our trip including washing dishes and spraying ourselves and our dog off after the beach/hiking/etc.Would 100% rent from SunStorm Vans again and recommend to friends!
