Chantal and Vicky are extraordinary, and the RV has everything you need. My son Eneko and I spent a superb week. Will repeat!

Chantal’s answer
Due to inverter malfunction, we had notified Kye immediately that the RV was going to be serviced but did not know if it would be fixed before the pick up date and would not feel comfortable releasing the RV without it fully functioning. Kye requested to hold off on canceling the booking due but would look for alternate options. After checking in the with service dealer, it became clear that we could not risk not having the RV ready and Kye requested we proceed with the cancelation of the booking to secure another RV for their trip. I do apologize for the inconvenience but I am happy you were able to find another RV for your big trip!

My husband and I rented Chantal's RV for 7 nights to go to Yosemite NP and Monterey/Big Sur. The van worked great for the first night and we were able to see its potential - would be awesome for boondocking, it's easy to drive and a very comfortable size for the two of us. Chantal and her sister were very friendly and helpful, they walked us through how the van worked before leaving. Unfortunately, the inverter stopped working the second day we had it. We spent many hours of our vacation time on the phone with the van owners as well as Storyteller and Volta (the inverter company) trying to find a solution. We were recommended to hook up to shore power by the Volta rep (which in Big Sur cost us about $70 for the night) and did not solve the problem. The batteries did not charge without the Volta system working and, therefore, for the rest of the week we needed to conserve power in any way we could. The 110 volt outlets were also not working so we could not use the induction cooktop (had to take more time out to buy a propane cook top - Chantal reimbursed us for what we paid for the cook top). Without the 110 volt outlets we also couldn't charge our laptops which resulted in my husband not being able to work from the van which had been his plan. Conserving battery meant no heat at night and no inverter meant no A/C during the day. During this time the owners were very responsive and, although unable to help, tried very hard to help us figure out a solution to our problem. We realize this was no one's fault and these things happen and in no way blame them for these issues. We do, however, feel that we did not get what we paid for and spent our vacation time trying to sort all of this out as well as we spent more money than we had intended staying in campgrounds and eating out. We were also not nearly as comfortable (or able to work) without all the amenities the inverter and batteries would provide. Chantal and her sister offered us a refund of approx $300. We asked for about twice that amount and asked them only to refund us only for what we would have paid for a similar van rental in the area without an inverter (we looked at comps in the area and were more than fair with our comparisons in that the best match we could find still would have offered us more amenities than we had without a working inverter or batteries). We were declined this request. We don't agree with this decision and will be filing a dispute with Outdoorsy. All this being said, the van when working properly is an awesome machine. I would not rent this vehicle again, however, as I don't think our situation was taken seriously by the owners.

Where do I start from! From booking the sprinter RV up until returning it we had a great experience. Chantal and Tatevik were great. They made us feel comfortable and explained how things work. They were very kind and courteous. The Overlander Storyteller was really nice, we enjoyed the drive to Yosemite. They had all sorts of essential items inside that made you feel comfortable. I will definitely rent from them again.

We were planning where we could take White Rocky next before we even returned it! It was such a fantastic trip. Chantal and Tatevik were so welcoming upon our arrival and showed us everything we needed to know even in the 110° heat. The van has been impeccably cared for and felt like we were taking it straight from the dealership. They have it stocked with all the essentials you’ll need and provided us with amenities that we weren’t expecting like snacks and shampoo. Once you’re on the road it’s so much fun. The van handles really well - our trip took us all over Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, even up to Mineral King. One tip though - figure out how to activate 4x4 mode before you leave Fresno because we didn’t have internet to look it up when we needed it, but the 2-wheel drive is very capable. Once you get settled in it feels really spacious for 2 people and you can fit a surprising amount of food and gear in the cabinets and refrigerator. The small shower takes some getting used to, but is a huge perk since the parks haven’t reopened their facilities. The best part is being able to stop wherever your trip takes you and having everything you need. Chantal & Tatevik’s White Rocky has completely spoiled us as first time van renters. We would 100% rent again.
