- All bed and bath linens and towels with shampoo/conditioner and soap
- 2 folding chairs and a table
- Propane fire pit
- Cleaning suppliesRecommendationsSherpa is designed to glamp in comfort in all climates. It has been a great mobile Ski Chalet for us in the winter. There's nothing better than having a warm place to stay after a long day on the mountain. It also makes a great base camp whether in a campground or boondockingTo go off grid, Sherpa has plenty of batteries, 600W of solar power, 40 gallon freshwater tank, 20 gallon grey water tank, and a flushing cassette toilet. If you're more into staying at established campgrounds, you can hook Sherpa up to shore power and replenish the water tank. A ceiling fan helps keep you cool in the summer and a diesel heater to keep you warm in the winter.
Other things to noteIf you don't have experience driving large rigs, this is probably not the adventure mobile for you.Pets welcome, but make sure to clean up after them.
No smoking or vaping inside the van please.Other things to note
We love Sherpa but also recognize she comes with limitations you may not be used to.1. Embrace minimalism: We recommend you pack light (backpacks and duffel bags). However, we have several drawers and a closet for hanging clothes/gear. There's also lots of space under the bed for skis/snowboards and other adventure gear.
2. Get used to tiny living: The ceilings are 6'0" tall, the shower is 24" wide, 32" long, and 6'0" tall. Showering and going to the bathroom is a bit less comfortable than you may be used to and if you are over 6'.
3. Power and water are essential: Although Sherpa is built specifically for boondocking, you should always be conscious of your water usage and take quick shower. The batteries hold a lot of energy and charge quickly in the sun, but using the instant hot water kettle or anything else with a high wattage will drain the batteries quickly.
4. Sherpa is BIG and slow. She's not going to get anywhere fast, but she'll get you there. Be easy on the gas and brakes and soft on the turns. She can get up the passes in the Cascades, but you might be chugging up at 45mph like the other semi trucks. Most of all, be aware of you surroundings and take your time.
5. Depending on how long your rental is, you may need to learn how to empty and clean the cassette toilet. Don't worry, it's not that bad. We'll teach you.
