We rented a 2008 29 ft thor majestic from mark&heather. Myself, wife and oldest son ,who just retired from the military, to go see family in Minnesota and our youngest son’s wedding in Pennsylvania. We drove from camp verde,az , to Inver grove heights, mn, to soaring eagle camp grounds in equinuck, pa, back to camp verde ,az. Total of 5183 miles. Every thing worked great. The rv was very easy to drive, and for as big as it is ,was very easy driving thru places like Kansas City during rush hour. Not smart on my part ,but it worked out. As far as I know , this is their oldest rv , so if the old one runs this well on that long of a trip, I’m petty sure their newer rv’s are running at top performance. Mark and Heather have a very well run rv business and take pride in their rv’s. I recommend Over the Moon rentals to all who want a great rv experience. Thank you ,Mark andHeather for everything. It was a mixed trip. While we got to see many of the sites that we wanted to, we were definitely misled in regards to the condition of the RV we rented and that prevented us from getting to all of the sites that we had planned. Mark and Heather knew of our aggressive agenda but never let on about some details of the RV that we were renting from them. To begin with, I was told that the dash air conditioning worked well enough to keep the whole RV cool, especially once we got out of Phoenix. That was quickly dispelled as we sweated our way up to the Grand Canyon and then overnight when it was too hot to sleep very much. The dash AC also would stop pushing cool air out of the vents whenever we had to push the gas pedal down to accelerate or go uphill. The generator would not start that night but it was way too late to contact Mark and Heather once we finally stopped to rest and noticed it. With my agenda we still pushed forward after about three hours of sleep to see the Horseshoe Canyon and then Bryce Canyon and after hiking through Bryce Canyon, we headed towards Las Vegas to see the lights. Even at night, we continued to be too hot to really sleep well even running the dash AC on full. This continued through the whole trip. We finally got in touch with Mark two days later and he walked me through some troubleshooting on the generator and I was able to get it started. It did help although I was told not to run the generator for more than 4 hours at any time and not to run it while sleeping as it could kill us in our sleep due to CO2 poisoning. This allowed us to get better sleep at night as I could cool off the RV by running the generator and ceiling AC for about an hour after stopping before turning it off and running the engine and dash AC for the rest of the night. Not ideal but better than the first few nights. We were also farther north in Idaho, Yellowstone, and Wyoming which meant the hour of generator powered AC helped cool the RV. After one week we started having tire issues and we had to slow down more and more until we got into Salt Lake City where I called Mark and he had me get the tires checked out and then replaced once it was discovered there was tread separation. I have mixed feelings here as Mark had no hesitation with replacing both front tires and was much more concerned with our safety than anything else. On the other hand, I couldn't figure out why there was tread separation and overheard the tire technician asking Mark why he had "Walmart quality" tires on his RV which made me think they were very cheap tires to begin with. Again, Mark got both front tires replaced right away and we only lost about half a day more. After spending the next morning in Purgatory, I tried getting my family to the Petrified Forest but the RV rocked and shaken so much on our way through New Mexico that I had to drop about 15-30 miles per hour under the speed limit in order to stop it from bouncing off of the road. That was enough to cause us to miss the Petrified Forest National Park as we got there 10 minutes after it closed. Being back in Arizona I headed to Flagstaff where the altitude would help us to sleep by allowing the RV to get cooler than elsewhere in the state. Even running the generator and AC for 2 hours was not enough to get the RV cool in Flagstaff so I decided to just return the RV and rent a car in order to try to see the rest of the things we wanted to. That also meant having to rent hotel rooms but we would not have been able to handle the heat of Arizona or New Mexico which was where the rest of our trip was planned, in that RV. Also, the pictures of the RV were misleading. No dash pictures which was good since there is a big wire sticking out of it. They also had a CD player but the RV bounced around enough that it kept skipping and possibly scratching our CDs. To summarize, we had a fantastic vacation with a lot of bucket list items on it and nothing was going to stop me from doing as much as I absolutely could with my family. It was our first time in an RV and it was definitely more uncomfortable than comfortable and caused us to miss a few of the items on my agenda but we survived and even thrived and had a fantastic lifetime experience to remember. No regrets. When we had problems, Mark responded.

Mark and Heather are excellent hosts! Very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The RV may be old but it is a sturdy and reliable machine. Not a single issue on a 15 day trip across the Southwest. Took it up mountain roads, into a large music festival, and toured a few national parks. A most excellent first RV experience! Mahalo nui loa!!

If you value your life DO NOT RENT from Over the Moon, they almost killed my wife and 6 month old son. We ordered a rental through Mark and Heather for a weekend trip out to CA. Meet up with Mark and Heather at some random lot out east on Happy Valley road; they run this rental business out of their home. The rental was "prepped" per Mark, but Heather still showed up 30 mins after we had arrived to continue cleaning the RV. I was given a set of instructions to run all the equipment on the RV and was told all equipment was in good working order including the generator. When we arrived out at our remote destination, we quickly learned that the $100 you pay in "prep" was complete garbage, and would seriously endanger my family later in the trip. When we arrived, my wife asked to start the generator so we could heat some food for our 6 months old. While the generator ran no power was being put to the RV, come to find out after multiple phone calls to Mark that there is some secret breaker on the generator that must be turned on to use, and even than the generator would only run for 5 minutes before failing. Lucky we are common campers, and I brought my own generator with propane that we had planned to use for other things. When I questioned about service for the generator, Mark stated he couldn't get any repair person to us, even though that was included in the cost of the rental, but that we could just use our generator and he would cover the cost of the propane. To this date Mark has still NOT reenbersed me for the propane I used. Lucky we had our own generator but now comes the chilling part. We needed to be able to keep our baby warm in the 30 degree evenings where we were at and this required running the heater most of the night, that runs off propane. In the middle of the night the carbon monoxide detectors start screaming, which wakes my wife and child. After further investigation we find the detectors are in good working order and we even borrowed some friends as well and when running the heater they continue to go off. The RV heater, that Mark supposedly "prepped" was dumping deadly flumes into the RV while my wife and 6 month old sleep. This could have killed them. So we had to air the whole RV out, in the middle of the night while it was in the 30s, and ended up having to sleep in that same temperature the whole night. Best we could get out of Mark and Heather was a half-baked apology. While I was very angry with the situation the best i could get out of Mark and Heather and OTM was for them to NOT even cover my propane replacement. Not only did they almost kill my wife and child but they wouldn’t even bother covering what we had used in leu of their faulty equipment.

We had a great experience renting this RV! The owners were very communicative and helpful about all of our questions. My friend had rented from them last summer and so I had heard great things, but, even so my expectations were far exceeded. Pick up was easy and I greatly appreciated the detailed explanations as this was my first time driving an RV. Any questions that we had along the way were also answered quickly, and even anticipated. There were very heavy rains on our trip and I was so grateful to get the email saying for us to be safe most importantly and that if we needed additional time to return it would be as simple to arrange as replying yes to the email (where all additional fees were clearly stated and calculated for us). We are very definitely Over the Moon and even beyond about our experience!
