Why pay for an overpriced camper rig, just to end up sleeping in a parking lot? With everything you will need to camp, you will save on gas and lodging and make memories to last a lifetime. Look into Kohanaiki or hookena as some of the nicer beach parks close to town. I have a google maps list of multiple free places to camp outside of the county sites; however, they are further from town. There is loads of snorkeling and beaches to go to all included in a guide book. Always be ready to hike as some of the island is rugged and only has paths instead of proper roads to some of the most gorgeous destinations.
