Frequently asked questions
Q.
What should I know about electricity?
A.
This is a 100% off-grid van. The battery monitor is near the nightstand above the bed, please keep an eye on this and lmk if it drops below 50%. There are two energy sources for the batteries, solar & battery-to-battery charger. Meaning they are charged via sun rays and from driving the van! If you're staying at a campground with electricity, I have an add-on you can purchase for and extension cord - this is helpful for overnight constant use for medical devices or other high-energy devices.
Q.
What to know about using outlets and LED Lights?
A.
To use the outlets or to turn on the LED lights, please switch the inverter (switch near sink) to ON, and keep this OFF when not in use. The remote (located on wall near nightstand) for the LED lights must be pointed near rightside of the bed, near the right pillow placement. Note, the LED lights is my secondary set of lights. The inverter does not need to be on to power the lightswitch near sliding door entrance - the light switch powers a set of string lights inside the van.
Q.
What should I know about water management?
A.
The water is stored underneath the large kitchen countertop area. The grey-water tank is the clear one, this is where the runoff from the sink goes. Please keep an eye on it as it only holds 5gal (freshwater storage is 10gal). There is a flashlight to help monitor levels! To dump grey water, remove hoses from all tanks then remove each tank from cabinet one-by-one. Once the clear one is dumped, enter tanks back in cabinet in same placement and re-attach/place hoses to their appropriate tank!
Q.
What makes renting this van special?
A.
Theres so many things we may forget to pack when we take a camping trip, so I am sure to include a handful of items that are often not included in van rentals or are a hassle to pack. These extras are not purchasable add-ons that you have to request, rather things that have personally evolved my love for van-ing and what I consider luxuries on the road. You know, things you dont have to buy & pack just for a week(end) getaway! Candles, mirror, cooking oil, spices, utensils, speaker, & more!
