Cares for van, mixed communication
Host Thomas is attentive to van maintenance and actively responds to reviews. Communication was easy initially, but some guests experienced unreturned texts for issues or changes, citing specific channels.
Easy, reliable, comfortable drive
Woodie is an older, smaller Ford E250 camper van, described as easy and enjoyable to drive, and reliable. It offers a comfortable mattress, battery charger, and essential gear, though some minor interior features had issues.

5.0We had an amazing two-week trip around Alaska with Woodie! Although the van is small, it was the perfect size for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, and there was enough storage space for everything we brought. Woodie was easy and enjoyable to drive, and we never felt that we needed a bigger vehicle. Even though it’s an older van, it’s clear that Tom, being a mechanic, takes excellent care of it. The van was reliable throughout our entire trip, and we didn’t have a single problem during those two weeks. We highly recommend Woodie to anyone planning an Alaska road trip. Thank you, Tom, for helping make our adventure so memorable 😊

5.0The whole process of renting, pick-up, and drop-off was really easy. The host had good communication from start to finish. The van was exactly as advertised and had everything we needed for an amazing trip - even bear spray. We really loved the battery charger and found the mattress to be really comfortable. Compared to other similar vans we looked at this one was much cheaper, albeit a bit smaller and a little rough around the edges. We loved our trip with Woodie and would absolutely rent this van again!

2.0The interior lights did not work, as well as the vent fan in the roof. I was told if I had any problems to text and they would help. I text and never received a reply. Before we left I asked about whether we could drive on a particular road, and was told that they would ask the owner and get right back to me. I never heard from anyone The gas gauge also didn't work. We also explained before we left that we would be returning the van 1 day earlier than originally discussed and was told it would be no problem. When we got back to turn the van in no one returned our text or calls. The owner did eventually contact us, and had no idea we were returning the van a day early.
