As an avid hiker, camper, and PADI Certified Divemaster, Kauai has been my ideal home for some time now! I have always loved exploring through driving for hours and pitching up tents wherever I could until I found out about vanlife. We had an absolutely wonderful time. This is the best way to visit the island and enjoy a camping experience. David was such gracious host - very easy to work with and accommodating.

Unsafe condition of tires for driving on roads. Vehicle is not in the condition as advertised and functions of the vehicle were not working including air conditioning. Host did not bring up any concerns when I dropped off vehicle and returned full security deposit. After requesting a refund for returning rental van early due to unsafe tire conditions, and inconvenience of van functions (sliding door hardly opens) the host decided to claim damages to van to offset return value. Host does not keep van or assets include in van/rental in good condition. Host requests to message off of Outdoorsy platform. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This review was written by someone that continually tried to cancel his trip before he came and then returned Big Blue early to try to get a refund by complaining. He did not even know Big Blue was on the island of Kauai and his claims have been proven as lies.

My trip to Kauai was amazing and that was only enabled with the RV that took me around the island. It was everything I needed and more. Blake and David are great hosts and would recommend them to anyone in a heart beay

Big Blue was a great vacation choice. We've traveled plenty with home rentals and hotels but this was a better way to enjoy the natural beauty of Kauai. Blake's recommendations on places to camp was great, and with finding several private campgrounds we had a good blend of local spots, hot showers, and secluded places. We hiked in the Kokee mountains, the Northern Na'pali coast, and everywhere in between. We snorkeled the best beaches (in order) Ke'e, Tunnels and Anini. Blue was a great transport to helicopter tours through Air Kauai, and a coast tour through Holo Holo Charters - snorkeling off the coasts of Na'pali, and Lehua Ni'ihau. We had everything we needed to make a few home made meals and sleep off the sun drenched (and several rain drenched) days. Strongly recommend Big Blue's owners for their communication, advise, and honesty. Mahalo!

Oh man, we loved Big Blue. This was the first leg of our honeymoon, and it was the perfect way to experience the island. Comfy, had everything you need, and drove the roads like a champ. Pickup/dropoff was easy, and communication was always quick and kind. We seriously felt like the coolest people driving Big Blue around from beach to beach. Definitely planning a longer trip back. If you’re adventurous and want to experience the island in an unforgettable way - book!

From start to finish the experience was fanatic. Big blue has all you need to enjoy the garden isle and communication was excellent. Pickup and drop of was simple and the function of the van was clearly explained.

The host was awesome. Gave great places to camp and hike. Take his recommendations for an awesome peaceful stay. The van had everything we needed to cook, sleep comfortably and explore the island. There are beach accessories and hiking poles. The host was able to accommodate a late check out and pick up the van from our hotel. And an early check in. We would definitely rent again and didn’t want to leave. I recommend renting longer than you think you want. We stayed the last night in a hotel and wish we stayed in the van instead.

My girlfriend and I rented big blue and it was an incredible experience- by far the best way to see and experience Kauai. We covered so much ground and were sad to leave. Our favorite moment was on Valentine’s Day. We pulled up next to a beach, opened the side door, and had dinner while watching the sunset. Last year we rented a truck with a rooftop tent on Kauai and big blue absolutely blew that out of the water.
