1 - I reserved my RV early in the year for 5 days in June. It was set up to automatically approve reservations. Once I got the confirmation we booked our RV park. Shortly after my confirmation, I got a notification from the owner that there was a 7-day minimum. This was not on the reservation page. I told her I had a confirmation, she said she would cancel it if I did not add days. We came to a compromise and I added a day at the beginning of the trip even though I was paying for a day of the RV sitting on the street. This meant we would pick up the RV on Saturday afternoon.2 - 2 weeks prior to our trip I send several messages about picking up the RV. When I logged in I noticed that the owner had lowered her rate and reduced her required minimum to 5 days. (Which was my original reservation that she wouldn’t accept) When she finally returned my messages she said she was not available to pick up the RV on Saturday afternoon. She suggested we pick it up on Friday as she would be home. She also told me that I would need to pay for insurance. I agreed to both to make it easier for her. When I emailed to coordinate a time she said she hadn’t heard from me (despite it being in the message feed) and the RV wasn’t ready. We adjusted our schedule again and my son-in-law left work on Saturday morning to get the RV.3 - When we picked up the RV we found that it had just come out of winter storage and that we needed to run the water when we got to the RV park. We arrive at the RV park and pull out the waste tubes - they had not been cleaned and my son-in-law was covered with raw sewage. Then we needed to run the water to eliminate the winterizing. We started to unpack and bring things outside and the door broke. We figured out that the bolt that held it to the frame was stripped. Because of this, we couldn’t keep the door open. As days went on screws started falling out of the door. (We promptly put them back)4 - Day 3 of our trip the electricity went out. There was no battery charge and we couldn’t start the RV. We were on the phone for well over 2 hours with the owner, Outdoorsy, and an RV expert. We were without power and electricity for over 12 hours. My son-in-law had to pull up the steps and troubleshoot a power breaker. We also had people from the RV people come to help us.5 - We returned the RV and no one was there for us to talk to. I send a message explaining the issues we had on our trip. Instead of sympathy for a trip riddled with issues, she files a claim against me for a broken door that had to have issues prior to us renting. (You can't strip a bolt opening a door half a dozen times)We have been doing RV rentals and AirBnB for a number of years. I have never had so many problems. I am now reconsidering doing RV trips in the future.
